OPERATION WRITE HOME Bunny Hop Day 1--EXTENDED!

MY APOLOGIES, I had this set to auto schedule for 8:45 am  and it did not do it. I have been away all day, I am so sorry. (I extended the original deadline due to this snafu)

Welcome to My little piece of the
OPERATION WRITE HOME
Spring Bunny Hop (blog hop)

Hi, you should have arrived here from Allison http://allisonscreations.blogspot.com
if you happened upon my post by accident or did not know about the hop it starts here.

Today I am challenging all of you to make
a Mother's day card with NO FLOWERS on it at all...
no floral paper, no added flowers, no stamps with flowers, no ribbons with flowers, no flowers whatsoever.
I have a couple of examples:
This card is just a piece of Neenah Solar white Card stock, that I wove ribbons on, then used part of one of the Nestabilities (Labels 16) and stamped Happy Mother's day, and a flourish(all by Inkadinkadoo-clear)  on with Momento Tuxedo black ink.

Stamps set is retired by SU, Card stock by SU, Ribbon-misc. Ink and markers-SU
It is a scan and not a photo (as with the card above) but this one got cut just a bit.

Did I mention there is a prize? no, well there is one for the lucky winner that my husband picks, this is what you will win:
A Bow Easy and a BN set of clear cling stamps by Autumn Leaves, these stamps are large-ish and fun and whimsical...there is the word Love, Always, Grin, & Imagine along with 2 other coordinating stamps.

Please add your card for this challenge below using the blue froggy! You have until Monday March 7 at 9pm EST to upload your picture. The Hubster will pick the winner at 11pm EST.

Please go along to see the next stop on the hop, the lovely GrandmaLee, who I am proud to call friend. :)

If you like come back tomorrow also for a short tutorial, and I will have a small blog candy for one lucky commentor.

EDIT: I regret that only 3 of you were even eligible for this challenge. having said that it is not fair to have a challenge with only three players. therefore (as stated on numerous occasions) there is no challenge.   however...Ann, Terri and Donna, please email me your mailing info and I will send you all a little something.  Thanks, Susan

Your cards are darling. And trust me, I've the hit snooze button so many times that I end up in another time zone! Good to have you with us!

I do so enjoy the OWH events as I get to meet so many lovely and talented people along the way. Thanks SO MUCH for sharing your creativity with us today! My husband is a decorated Vietnam veteran and this event always holds such a special place in my heart.

And I just found your blog on this hop and am now a follower - so VERY nice to meet you! HUGS!

What a great challenge, and that's a REAL challenge to lots of card makers! I love how you did yours, especially the woven ribbons. I have a TON of ribbon, so I should give this technique a try. I'm glad you were able to get your post to work, too!

Thanks so much to alerting me about Blogger problems. I see I wasn't the only one that had problems with Blogger. I had my post all ready to go last night when I went to bed, but when I hit post, nothing happened. Two hours later, I was able to get back to the post that was missing 90% of the content. I could just scream when stuff like this happens! I hope things are getting better for you because I know all too well what you are feeling right now, and that you & hubby are enjoying your "empty nest" while it lasts.

This is my first bloghop and I don't know all the terminology yet. What do you mean by using the blue froggy for entering your card in the challenge? I've used the link on OWH for challenges. Is it the same thing? Please respond to donna_e_s@live.com. I'd like to enter the challenge later tonight. Thanks, Donna S.

What fabulous cards!! I love the woven ribbon. I posted a Mother's Day card, though very feminine, no flowers. It was inspired by my mother who loves butterflies. The paper was a gift from my daughter. Thank you for this challenge, sometimes it's good to think outside the box!!Did I miss a place to become a follower of your blog? I'll look again!!

Hi Susan, thanks for giving me a heads up to come back and revisit your blog. The auto post didn't work for me on Sat. morning and I was frantically retyping my post at about ten after nine, hahaha (it wasn't funny at the time). You put a lot of work into your woven ribbon card and the kitty card is very funny! Thanks for visiting my blog during the bunny hop!
