Alphabe-Thursday

 It is back to class time, here at Jenny Matlock's "Off on my Tangent"...for Alphabe-thursday.

This week we are learning about the letter "M".


 "M" is for MANY things in MY life. For example; The MALES out-number the females in the house right now. Naturally this is not a good thing, as the females are ME (disabled) and MY angry female cat (she is angry because of the extra MALES in the house of the furry & feline kind). It is also not good as MY son, has been blessed with extra testosterone! This MAKES him MEAN and MAD sometimes, MORE often than I would like.

I know I call MY Husband Ron, because that is what he has been called all his life, but that is actually his MIDDLE name, his first name is MICHAEL. Our daughter Amanda; does not like being called MANDY, she prefers MANDA.

When it rains a lot our driveway becomes MUDDY, because it is dirt and stone...it used to be MORE stone, but it is a hill, and well there is erosion. We have lots of MOUNTAIN LAUREL, which is an endangered plant here in the NJ Pine Barrens, it has shiny long oval-ish deep green leaves and only blooms once about early to mid summer, white with pinkish center cluster blossoms.  They are all over down here, our woods are full of them, like all the other woods around our property. 

The people next door have horses, so in the summer we get the wiff of MANURE, MORE-SO up the hill near the barn than by the house-Amen!
My son says  ....MORE POWER, as in when he has a "campfire" he tries to MAKE them into Bonfires! (can you say lots of lighter fluid or gas...Holy MOLY!)

Lastly, I wouldn't be here if I didn't have a MOM! MY MOM is 84, she was born in Springfield, IL in 1926, a few MONTHS later they lived in Louisville, KY, and then MOVED back to the family farm in Scottsburg, IN. I have a lot of admiration for MY MOM for MANY reasons. The MAIN reason is that her dad only let her go thru the 8th grade, telling her "Girls don't need an education".  MY MOM self taught herself as MUCH as she could by reading and trial and error, and MADE for herself a career as a Bookeeper +. MY Dad died 3/10/05, their wedding anniversary that year- 4/13/46 would have been 59 years, to ME that is aMAZING!  There is a lot MORE to MY MOM than MEETS the eye. Even some not so good stuff, but hey we all have that, right?

New Counter but sad...

I finally found my counter, but sadly it started over at ONE. I was well over 9,750 hits. (since 4/29/10) blog started 2/5/10. 

I also got my slide-show back and even added some of last year's art to it.


NOW I have to figure out how to get my play list back...any ideas??

My Apologies and My Thanks

I am in the process of repairing the damage I did to my blog. While this tedious, time-consuming project is taking center stage I want to say I'm sorry.  I may or may not post a couple more cards tomorrow (later today) and I am hopeful I'll be able to participate in Alphabe-Thursday. We'll see what happens.

Additionally I like to say THANK YOU to those of you who have posted to me over the last few weeks with compliments, or help or information. I CHERISH each one of you.  You REALLY have NO clue how isolated and lonely my life is. You are all part of my lifeline. I feel blessed to have "met" you all :)

I am still looking for the possibility of someone redoing my blog once I get back all the missing stuff.  If any of you are proficient PLEASE let me know.  I would really like my "Pages" to not be as cluttered as the main page (which is why I lost so much stuff...it all showed up in the side bar of a page I was building, and I said I do not need this stuff on this page, it is on the main page, and I keep hitting remove...arrrgh!) I know I have been on blogs that have "pages" that are like plain pages... Frenchy's blog comes to mind...none of her pages have all the stuff that is on her main page.

anyway. please BEAR WITH ME, and KNOW how special you all are to me!!  A few of you I am still waiting on addresses from to be able to mail your prizes and or blog candy.

One gal who was one of the runner -up candy winners has never emailed me her address so, if that doesn't happen soon. I will go back and pick someone else.  Lynn,  & FaerWillow yours will be postal soon...$ is an issue right now, with Son's truck repair and his root canal (no insurance). Sus...I emailed you that I lost the email with your address, twice now...PLEASE get back to me.

the others are all little prize winners from the 21 days of YULE, I am waiting for a couple more addresses. there are several prizes left, as I did not get 21 people picking numbers. so i am not sure if I should just save them for next year or not.

My one year blogoversary is during ONE WORLD ONE HEART (see logo on side bar)  I hope you all join-- it is the coolest ride, and that is why I decided to bite the bullet and make a blog, and I have never regretted it, and have met and made friends with many people! so I haven't decided how to go about my giveaways for that, but I know there will be at least one giveaway for the US and one for internationals.  I might double that since it is also my blogoversary, we'll see.

I sabotaged my own blog...ARRRGH!

I have still not heard back from blogger, on how to restore my stuff.

I am guessing I'll have to do it all over again.

I would really appreciate if anyone can help me move stuff from the side bar to the main body on a page. OR also how to make a page, be JUST a page with NO sidebar.

ATTENTION: Cardmakers...I am missing all my buttons for sketch blogs...I can not find Mojo Monday at all for example.  I need to try and find all my awards again too. Whew....so exhausting :(

MAJOR HELP NEEDED...blogger

I thought I would start decluttering my blog, by moving some stuff to it's own page.
I didn't realize that the pages would be the exact same thing as my blog. SOOOO, I was editing the pages and removed EVERYTHING that had nothing to do with that item (as 2010 blog parties I participated in)  it REMOVED it ALL from everywhere.
I went to the help section and posted a question, hoping there is a way to restore all that info.

Basically my entire sidebar is gone!

Does anyone else know anyway to fix this?

Does anyone know how to make pages that do not have side bars?

I was so proud of my goals for 2011 and for my blog, and now I totally F**KED UP!!  I am beside myself over this.

New Year's UN-Resolutions... (hoping it will become a blog party)

 This year I am NOT making resolutions. Instead I am setting "do-able" goals, a list of 11 things.

I am hoping many of you will join me. If you plan on following my example and making a list, and hopefully supporting each other  then please copy the image along with the credit, and the link to THIS POST (attaching the link to the picture) in the "picture" section on "add a gadget" (blogspot)

2011 Goals, NOT resolutions

My Goals for 2011

first let me state that some of these are of much more importance than others, and that the KEY word here is "TRY"

1... I will try my BEST to lose 3+ pounds a month and keep it off

2... I will try my BEST to walk approx 220' a day, increasing it, slowly each week-weather permitting (I am not allowed to walk in snow and ice & I know this sounds like such a small amount--trust me, with my back and knees this is a project)

3... I will try my BEST to clean up, and/or organize 3 things a day

4... I will try my BEST to write in my journal daily, with at the very least telling myself something positive about myself or my day, and what I ate

5... I will try my BEST to ignore any negativity coming my way by way of my son, & to point out negativity coming my way from my husband

6... I will try my best to get up before 10 am and get dressed and act like I have a life (being disabled is very enabling to give in to one's depression)

7... I will try my BEST to read and research one + book on spirituality a month

8... I will try my best to make 20 cards a month* (11 at least to be for Operation Write Home)

9... I will try my best to visit 11 blogs that I follow a day

10... I will try my BEST to post at least 20 times a month to my own blog

11... I will try my BEST to add from 3-11 new things to my new ETSY shop once a month (starting in March)

and...

I WILL start visiting my mother at least once a month no matter what the family is doing or what vehicle is available.
