Operation Write home Independence day Blog tour day #1

Hello there everyone, today I got a late, ok a VERY late start on my small part of the Operation Write Home July 4th Blog tour.
It is a bit crazy around here, we had a house fire on 6/6 (no one hurt and contained to one room thank God, although smoke and soot damage to most of the upstairs)  I turned 50 on 6/22, this weekend my hubby and son are gone to NC to pick up my son's belongings as he is moving home, My daughter is working most of the weekend (she'll be turning 23 on 7/6), so I'll be all on my own. :(

I have LOTS planned for this tour and will MORE than make up for today's simple content over the next 2 days.  I plan on doing a card of a different type tomorrow.  possibly some extra cards, and perhaps a special book mark. MOST importantly I will be giving away 3 BLOG CANDIES for comments on each of the 3 days posts. That means 1 candy per post...the candy is open to all visitors for the TOUR, participants or not.

I will say that the candy is geared toward card making, and Red, White and Blue. SOOOO, if you are not a card maker perhaps, you'd like to mention that in your comment, that way I can keep your comment out of the draw so it goes to those who make cards, that will be up to you.  Pictures of Candy will be in Tomorrow's post.

Here is today's card:
White C S -Georgia Pacific
Printed papers all rec'd as rak
Image rec'd as rak
Bic mark its!
3D Foam tape (under image)
Ribbon from stash
red circle nail heads by We Are Memory Keepers
Stamp & Ink by Stampin' Up

This card also fulfills Meljen's RW&B challenge

A short tale for today, my older sister Barbara's Birthday is July 4th.  When she was little she thought the Fireworks were for her.  I am sure for a child it was a major let-down when she was informed of the truth, LOL :)

OK, so any comments to this post will be included for the first draw of the candy.  but you'll be doing it without a picture til tomorrow, sorry. (my allergies have been kicking my butt, we have a new kitten, and I am afraid that most of the issue is coming from her, I am sure the soot that is still in some area's isn't helping either)
There is now a wonderful OWH FORUM, check it out!

OK the rules for the Candy...
*USA people only ( sorry I am kind of broke)
*ONE comment(per post) only will be counted in the draw
** Blog owners only (sorry) after the memorial day weekend blog hop, I had a hard time tracking a couple of people down  FURTHERMORE, if your blog is NOT a blogspot blog, you MUST include your email address...I am NOT hunting people down,  if  I can not immediately locate you, I will draw another name.
*Following is NOT necessary, but I would love it if you did.

##There is something I am forgetting to say, when it comes to me, I'll post it##

Well, happy birthday to your sister. I know what you mean, I was born around Thanksgiving and was always told that big meal was for my birthday, lol. I have a son born on July 8th so there is always fireworks and my daughter was born on New Years eve, so everyone celebrates her birthday, as well.

Love your card and thanks for sharing and caring.
