Monday, muse missing---HOUSE FIRE!!

we had a house fire last night, started in my newly renovated son's room from a floor fan.  Due to quick action on mine and my husband's part, by closing the door, and calling 911 immediately upon opening the door and seeing the thick smoke, it remained contained to the one room. AND no one was injured!

The room is fried, items that are irreplaceable in the room are fried, other items that are replaceable are fried. The firemen made more of a mess and made more damage than the fire alone in the house.  They had the electric company come and turn our power off at the meter.  They told us to find someplace else to live til an inspection could be done.  We told them there is no place else.  The fire Marshall came and they ruled it accidental, and said there is no structural damage but by protocal the bldg. inspector has to come, and he'll be here first thing in the morning.  HE NEVER SHOWED UP!  we called an electrician that we know who gave us all the instructions of what to do (as he is a county electrical inspector)  so now the guy will be here tomorrow.

Our next door neighbor is running electric to the house tonight for us, so I have some use of the computer, the main refrig is plugged in and we have a light in the kitchen and 2 in the LR.  I am a wreck to say the least...nothing like an anxious event happening to someone who suffers with anxiety!!

One cop, a sawed-off little shit  was a real asshole, and of course when I get anxious I can be an asshole, so put us together and you get a mess. Ron also does not do well under pressure and frustration.  he kept asking stupid questions that nothing to do with the fire. AND he kept acting like he was the sheriff in the old west standing on or by our front stoop like a tough guy.  At one point, AFTER we had been told the fire was out and it was safe, I wanted to go sit on my couch, as the outside lawn chair was not doing my back any good after sitting on the edge of it for 2 hours (it is too narrow for my whole butt)  he jumps in front of me and tells me I can't go in. I said the fire is out and it has been seemed safe, my back is killing me and I am going in. "If you keep this up I am going to arrest you." Good I arrest me I told him, he said , "No, I'm not going to."  That's right asshole, cause you have no grounds!  signing off for now, Hopefully I'll have good news tomorrow.

Susan, thank goodness you are safe. Times like this bring out the worst in people. I certainly wouldn't have been in a good mood with anyone - regardless of their title.
glad that you are all safe

Hi Susan,

Micki from Irish Muses sent me over. Sorry to hear of the fire. I'm glad that no one was hurt. Hopefully things will be as normal as possible soon. Don't you just love when they give assholes badges and guns??

Wishing you well.

Sometimes people with a little bit of authority take themselves way too seriously. All that really matters is that you and your family are safe.

How awful! I'm so glad you are all okay. I'm not sure I would have had clear thinking in that situation to know what to do.
