a Lucky Streak

Back on April 28, it was national Charm day, I was supposed to participate, I had some charms made and everything. However family crap got in the way, and I forgot to put my post up. I never even went to any of the blogs to see their stuff, except for one, as she posted it at least a full week before. She had some awesome goodies to giveaway, and guess what?  I WON!!  I couldn't be happier, I loved the book mark, and the earring and pendant set, the other goodies were icing on the cake. This blog is Naturally Me Creations and it is owned by a talented woman named Monique.

The best part is how she came to pick a winner, read the adorable post here I love Dee Dee!!!
Now the sad part, some thievery along the way from South Africa to the US, the beautiful earring and pendent set and the heart charm on the bottom of the charm picture were missing. :( You can see the envelope had been opened, and they just pressed it back together. However, Monique; being the sweet person she is, has told me she is going to make me a new set and send it off! How about that? She's the best!! Please visit her blog and show some love :)

and now the other wonderful winning!

Then a couple weeks ago, a friend and fellow artist was doing a dream journal giveaway on her blog, I entered and, also won!!! Tami at Raeven's Nest was very generous and was giving away this yummy goodness!  I can't wait til it arrives :)

it's Friday, that means...

something FREE:

click the pic then save it

something FUN:

Here are some ATCs I made for a swap at "The Stamp Man", The Theme this month is FRIENDSHIP.

a girl and her doll, I used some flower soft on top of the flower images on the bkgd. Stamped "adore" added some mini Primas and a heart brad.

2 Kitties having tea, I trimmed the draperies in beads, floated the word friendship, and used diamond glaze on the word and on the purple flowers, finished it off with a top border of German scrap

2 "tumblers", I colored in their pants and shoes, used black rhinestones, a black sharpie on different areas of the Bkgd. and a bit of German Scrap. Yippee is floated on foam tape

and something FRANK:

I do NOT believe they got OSAMA, I think it is a political tactic to raise OBAMA's Popularity. (which let's face it- has tanked)  He is really good at one thing...self promotion.

AND...why is HE getting the credit anyway? it would and should be going to our operatives and military, especially the navy seals.

show of hands, anyone else sitting with me on a grassy knoll?

Cricut giveaway

I just found out about this great chance to win a cricut!! (that is what I get for being a bit of a slacker lately in bloggyland)

Please click the picture above to go to PRICSILLASTYLES, to enter!!

Dear So and So---1 day late (plus it has been a while)

Usually on Fridays there is:
Dear So and So...

It appears this week, she may not have done it, but I need to, as I have been holding things in a lot lately.

Dear Hubby,
you are different since those incidents a few weeks back. I KNOW that you are aware of at least some of what I am talking about. Maybe some of it you aren't (but I really do not think so) YOU NEED to make an appt. with the Doctor, and find out what is going on, as it may just be that new medicine, or it may be something more serious.  To ME, you acting like nothing is wrong, and being indifferent shows a lack of love and respect for me. What if it is something serious? Then you could be taken from me. DO what you NEED to do!
Thank you and love, Susan

Dear certain internet and blog friends,
YOU know who YOU are. You are the ones that have told me numerous times to feel free to ask questions, when I need an answer. Don't tell someone that and then time and again ignore them, when they ask a question. a few of you, have stopped even visiting my blog, I guess that is my answer--that you just can't be bothered. Well, I do not understand how it takes something away from you, to tell me what Beltaine(or Beltane) is and what should be on an alter? (one example)
How to create my own button for my blog?  that is another one.
How to make a watermark to protect my art images?

What is the name of a certain punch you have used for a project( I even asked through your so-called contact me form for this one) and after receiving no reply I have repeatedly put it in a comment on your blog. I know you are one of the "Great ones" when it comes to card making, but if you aren't going to help others why do you mention time and again?

Do all spells and rituals NEED to be done on the full moon?

Then there are a few of you who talk SO ENTHUSIASTICALLY about an event or something that is going on with a group of people (mostly in the art world), but no new people can join. Try reading what you post from a reader's POV and not a poster's POV.

You will see that this is a form of TEASING, like "look how great and how much fun this is, wouldn't you like to be doing this?"  Things can be worded differently, as to share something you like, without getting people's juices flowing, thinking possibly they can get in on something.   Which brings me to something else.

PLEASE remove dead buttons and candy off your sidebars people, it is your blog, maintain it!

OK, getting off my soapbox now.
Thanks for listening, and don't be mad, as I am sharing with you, which is something adults should be able to do with one another.

Hugs (for the most part),
Susan

Dear son Tom,
I have it on good authority that you think you have your father snowed, and will be getting that truck for only doing one job with him or for him on this house. You are mistaken. You know we have decided to draw up a contract, which will be fully enforced, and the title stays with dad. Since we have heard about your clever bragging, and your usual manipulating behavior, Dad says he may not even give you the truck at all, he is thinking of selling it. The time as come for you to grow up. Finding convenient woman to shack up with, as all utilities and rent is already in their name...leaving you responsible for nothing is going to get around, and even your male friends eventually are going to lose respect for you. The time for lazing around, playing video games, and outside gun games(hoping to be noticed and become a paid player) is over. Put away those pipe-dreams of childhood, man-up and get a damn job! You have at least 10x over pooh-poohed jobs that would have brought you decent income. UPS for one...you wouldn't even go check it out as you don't want to get up and go to work in the morning. The cable company's call center, you have already done this kind of work, you are and can be a both a cable and a internet troubleshooter, excuse that time---"Pretty soon, we're gonna be getting big $$ for our tournaments". You really do make us feel ashamed, and questioning what we didn't do right.  Get on with an adult life already.
Love, Mom

Happy Mother's day to all...

Moms, soon-to-be-Moms, almost-like-a-Mom, Want-to-be-Moms, and Moms-to-fur babies!!!

My Dad is gone, but I am BLESSED to still have my Mom alive and doing pretty well. She is 84, has some heart issues, some thyroid and BP issues, bad arthritis, and a bit of scoliosis. We had a few scares, the chest pains that sent her to the Hospital in the summer of 2001(right after Ron had his 2 heart attacks, and double bypass surgery...in fact he was still in the hosp. when we got the call)  Mom did NOT have a heart attack, but tests showed that even though her heart muscle was that of a "30 year old" her coronary arteries were that of an "80 year old"  she had 5 bypasses, followed by infection in one of her leg incisions (where they grafted a vein from), and also followed by her passing out cause she was sent home on 2 BP meds and it lowered her BP too much (that's FL. medical care for you)  2 years later she a a polyp removed from her colon with pre-cancerous cells, they removed about a foot of bowel to protect her.  1 year later she went in for hernia repair and the doctor perforated her bowel, causing Peritonitis. (FL medical...she had a case for Malpractice, but didn't want to go through with it---I called Risk management and bitched as the doctor even told my mother she "was leaving for vacation right after mom's surgery"  {can you say RUSH?} ) As far as I know they never billed my mom's supplemental insurance or her for anything during that hospital stay. (the least they could do) It was after this that they moved back home to NJ near my sister, as my Dad pleaded with her, and wept, saying he was so scared when Mom was in the hospital, and there was no one down there for them. (we did try to tell them this before they moved)

ANYWAY...I am Blessed that she is still with us, and I do not get to see her nearly enough.
She is spending today with my sister and BIL. I send her - her card a small part of her gift in the mail. she called today to say how much she LOVED my card, and planned to save it as she did last year's. We'll be going up in a week or so.

I HOPE all of you have a wonderful day doing something you enjoy, with people you enjoy and love :)

I will be spending the day, clipping our grand dog, hubby will be in charge of the bath since I can't kneel, but I'll help. I'll be going into wally world for a couple of things, and Michael's to look for a particular MS edge punch LOL. Then hubs and I are going out to dinner nothing fancy.  The 3 places on the list are: Old Country buffet, Golden Corral, and Ruby Tuesdays (love their salad bar)

Here is the card I made for my Mom, Lenora(always called Lynn)

this one is a bit blurry sorry
 Ahh, much better.
Products used: STAMPIN' UP card stock Chocolate Chip, GEORGIA PACIFIC White card stock,
both printed papers are from PRIMA'S -Sparkling Spring 6 x 6 pad, SPELLBINDERS nestabilities die Labels 16, MARTHA STEWART double edge punch-"Doily Lace Trim", PRIMA flowers--Fairytale Roses-Orchid pack, STAMPIN' UP markers, Christmas red STICKLES, Diamond Glaze (on Mirror), Misc: Thread to sew the flower together, a heart shaped pink button, foam tape to elevate the image on top of another printing of that image, redline tape(powdered in between the petals), and a bit of glue to attach my flower.
Stamps: Digital stamp, "Momma's Hat" by MCMAHON 5 DESIGNS (bought especially for mom's card) sentiment--HAMPTON ART, designed by Elizabeth Wong. I also used the swirls and birds for the inside of the card
close up of the 3D flower I made using a edge punch
a better view, plus you can see all the other 3D
 a different view
close up of the digi stamp, prima roses etc.
The inside, I thought about taking the picture too late, I had already written in it, but decided to anyway. The border punch you see here is the same used to make the flower, except once I attached the 2 strips (11") together, I cut it in half lengthwise, so it would have a flat bottom and sit on the card better.
