Today is Friday...that means...

Something FREE...

Here is an image for your collaging pleasure:

Something FUN....

My birthday is NEXT month (June)... please guess the date, the first person to guess the correct day or the closest to the correct day will WIN...a crafters dozen fibers ...that means 13 yards of fiber (1 yard each of 13 types) ...******(you must be a current follower to play--fret not, since my birthday is coming up, there may be other giveaways, so become a follower, & you'll ready for the next time)

and a burning question or thought that I'd like your FRANK thoughts on...

When bloggers offer giveaways...what requirements do you think are just and fair, and what is too much, or "making you jump through hoops"?

I am still not feeling so great, this thing is just hanging on, I got like 50-75% better and then i plateaued there, ugh...I WILL be posting, Wednesday WTJ, and Thursday's altered art over the weekend.

Hey Susan,
Sorry to hear your not feeling well. Happy Birthday soon! How about my guess is the 10th?

I always thought it was a lot to ask people to do things other than leave a comment.
I don't like having to post it on my blog, unless it's my choice. I don't become a follower unless I want to, and on that one, I always think, how many people became followers just be in the giveaway and are they just going to stop following after the giveaway?
For my contests I ask them to leave a comment, sure I'd love for them to post it on their blog and tell others, but I think it should be up to them.
I'm gonna guess the 13th.

I'm guessing your birthday -the thirteenth? I just love old gravestones- really old ones! I had found some back East when I went home to visit, and sid some rubbings with charcoal. The trip home ruined them sadly. They were those hand carved 1700's ones. Darn!

Sorry too to read you're not feelin' too hot> Positive thoughts at you>>>
As for Giveaways, I've also thought about that. I think, maybe it should be for your followers first, then if they also bring a few others over to subscribe. It shouldn't be something like an elaborate artwork piece that would sell for a lot, or took you months to create, but something good and that you'd be proud to have someone have. Unless of course, you are looking to have galleries and buyers subscribe. If they obtain a small piece of your work, and it's quality, they may come back and buy. I suppose it has to do with what you want to promote for yourself as an artist and what you are looking to do with your blog. You could, for fun, raffle off materials. As artists we always have more than we can use. Make a nice box of goodies.

I am going to guess the 6th, its my brothers bday so it came to mind. As for blog giveaways..I don't mind when they offer options, I can pick and choose what I am willing to do...but when they require you to have any sort of entry that you must follow first, that I kinda mind, that should be left as an option IMO.

Hey Susan,

Wish you were feeling better. I know how painful bronchitis and upper respiratory infection can be. I had both as a child, which developed into pneumonia and scarred my lungs. Get better, NO, get 100% soon!

To answer your question about what is fair with giveaways, I think I have made it clear when I have a giveaway or when I sign up for a giveaway, I don't want any strings attached. I believe in visiting people's blogs I admire, who have something to say, or whose art I admire. I think it's unfair of people to attach strings when they have something to give away. Giveaways should be free to all, or restricted to followers only. I believe one should give from the heart, not the desire to have the most followers at the end of the day. I have never gotten, or asked for, a follower through a giveaway. I get followers who like my posts, who like my art, or who are interested in my life.

As a result of my choice, I may not be permitted to join in some giveaways, and some of them are incredible. I know some people get all their followers through giveaways. I prefer the old fashioned friendship rather than bribery way. And friendship is why I come to visit YOU!
