My grateful Thanks to the Village Witch for hosting this party!

First, I'd like to say that is you wish to see pictures of my alter scroll down a couple of posts, or come back later tonight when I will add ones to this post with my candles lit.

I am 51, I have been on this new spiritual path, an awakening, and an education if you will for a  bit over a year now. I made my first Alter for mabon of this year. This is my first YULE.
I am was a disenchanted, disheartened, and dislodged Christian.  I am sure, if I told the ways, reasons etc. there would be several of you nodding your head. So I won't do that.

I will tell you that as far back as I can remember I knew the name ISIS. If my memory serves me correctly I knew the name ISIS before learning about Egypt in school. As far back as I remember I always enjoyed being in the woods, hiking, walking alongside streams etc. I live at the shore, and I have since being 13. I prefer the mountains.  I am IN PART Native American, and unlike my siblings, I am most proud of this heritage, and am most interested in finding out my ancestry there. Funny thing is, I resembled more my Mom, than my Dad. They resembled more my Dad. I was fair, they were darker. they used to tease me that the INDIANS dropped me off on the doorstep.  The Family grapevine, says there is NA blood in both families, but in much larger proportions  from my Mom.
Mom's heritage:  Scotch-Irish, English (a bit), Native American and French
Dad's heritage: French, German, a bit of Dutch (Pennsylvanian), and Native American (a bit)

So, when reading and discovering, I immediately knew that Isis would be my main Goddess. I also knew, that I wanted to follow as best I could the Native American path, I feel a strong pull towards Shamanism.

Taking all of this into account, I knew right away what my Magical name should be; ForestIsis.

Once, I made this strong commitment. I prayed to the Great spirit, and "spoke with" Isis on a nightly basis upon laying down to sleep. I spoke of many things. I asked for guidance sometimes, or signs and answers.

One night back in the end of September, I spoke to Isis about my small gift of divination, and how best to nurture it, and what tool would be best for me to work with. I was taught how to read a regular deck of cards when I was 16, by a friend's Italian grandmother...It was my birthday gift to have her read my cards, as she will not read anyone's cards under the age of 16. Well, part way through my reading she got up and made my friend leave the room (she was only 14), she closed the door telling her grand daughter; "your friend has the gift".  She came back to the table, and repeated to me, "you have the gift, so I will teach you."
So she did. I also have had daydreams-visions and sleeping dreams that themselves come true, or they are metaphorical for things that then happen.
As I said, I was asking Isis for guidance in this matter. the very next day, there was a comment on a post on my blog, by an art and blog acquaintance that I hadn't spoken to in a very long time. in this comment, she invited me to come visit her blog, as she was giving away a set of Oracle tarot cards! MY JAW HIT THE FLOOR!  I immediately emailed her and told her about my "conversation with Isis" and how I was asking her to show me, what form I should be studying and practicing, and then THIS HAPPENED!

TRULY it was MAGIC worked by ISIS through ME!  I KNEW it, I FELT it! When I told Kim she felt it too!  I entered her giveaway, but I also explained to her how I did not own any tarot cards, and that I never even had a tarot reading. She seemed quite surprised and explained to me how she had MANY decks, and that she felt compelled to send me one. We both agreed it was still magic being worked by Isis.

Kim asked me to tell her some of my interests as far as decks go. I told her since Isis seemed to be moving us, to let her guide Kim to the deck that she was meant to send me.  I was so excited...i told my son (he is Wiccan, he agreed it was probably magic but since Isis, wasn't "his" Goddess, he couldn't be 100% sure) I told his GF also Wiccan, she was like "I LOVE WHEN STUFF LIKE THIS HAPPENS! Of course it is magic!"

On October 8, Kim emailed me and told me my package was postal! on Monday the 10th it was in my mailbox, it was a LARGE box for just a deck of cards....I was so excited!

Well Kim was sooo very thoughtful and generous, and sent me much more than a tarot deck.
Shortly after receiving this wonderful gift I won 2 other giveaways in blogland but not the oracle deck...so I knew Isis picked the right deck for me. However there was a LOT of BAD and Time consuming, Depressive stuff going on in my life at that very time. Each time I wanted to take the time to photograph everything and share it with you all on the blog. It never seemed to happen or it wasn't right. I finally got the pictures taken just after Halloween.

I kept waiting for and looking for the right time to post about this wonderfully magical happening in my life.  I even kept telling people to be on the lookout for a magical post on my blog. Each time I started to do it, something stopped me.

Time went by and I came across the button for this YULE MAGIC blog party. Like a bolt from the blue, I knew this was my gift to you all, to share this true magic that happened. (to give you hope, to show that magic does happen, it is real)

Here now I share the WONDERFUL, THOUGHTFUL and GENEROUS gift that Kim sent me. I have NO DOUBT WHATSOEVER, that ISIS touched her hand and guided her as to what to send me.

Tarot deck bag, Card, and she made me a vial of "Isis" oil and a crystal
 close-ups
Spiral tarot, deck, pamphlet on tarot (directions in the box), plus a companion book
As if that wasn't enough already, Kim truly pampered me!

Kim also sent this FABULOUS book!
I just chose some pages at random
 Easy explanations
 Beautiful artwork and colors

The sections are all color coded

Isn't this such a wonderful gift?
Guess what, Kim wasn't finished yet!

This is a bad picture, sorry (I took all these outside with the sun behind me)
 Crone Stones!
VERY COOL indeed!

Not only is this Magic, it is a blessing! Kim is a blessing to me, and I wish we were in contact more!

NOW, if this wasn't a SIGN  from ISIS enough, that I should be studying TAROT. about 1.5 months later I won this from Lyn's Blog

So, IF I had been skeptical of the magic performed by Isis and I, through Kim, then this would have been the final bit of evidence. However I knew, I knew as soon as I read the comment from Kim, after not hearing from her for so long, asking me to enter her tarot giveaway!

I hope you enjoyed my gift of TRUE MAGIC, and if you come back way later(or tomorrow) I hope to have pictures of my LIT ALTER. However as I said earlier you can see it, a few posts down.

NOW, lastly I offer up to one lucky Magical person a real gift.

DAY 26- 31 Days of Halloween, Countdown to halloween, Real witches of Halloween

PLEASE SCROLL DOWN for the "HALLOWEEN PARTY" (hosted by A Fanciful Twist) post

Welcome to Day 26 of the 31 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN, as well as day 26 of the COUNTDOWN TO HALLOWEEN, and Day 26 of THE REAL WITCHES OF HALLOWEEN.

Today's Halloween funny:

Today's creation is and will continue to be a work-in-progress, as it is, once again my Book of Shadows. The last page I showed you was the inside of the front cover. this is the facing page. In many books this is left blank, but not in a journal, not in a diary and certainly not in a BOS. You can click on any image to make it a bit bigger.

The book has 8.5" X 11" pages, so this background paper that is already printed with a pretty pink (almost magenta) border and mostly gray spider webs, some black web, black spider and hanging web line and 2 black candles is 12" X 12". I cut the paper down and fit it around the stamped image.
The stamp is "Beatrix" one of the "Steampunk Halloween" collection from SIMPLY BETTY STAMPS. I paper pieced her skirt, cape, pumpkins, and the cover of her BOS. Then I colored the rest in with PRISMA COLOR pencils, 2 thin tip sharpies (one is flesh tone, and the other very pale pinks...hands and face) and BIC Mark its! for her hair & book pages. I goofed on part of her cape, and accidentally cut if off, so I had to piece it back in.Again the pencil was a perfect match to the paper, but here it appears blue. :(
Ink on dark purple paper is tough! LOL

The paper used for piecing was from the same Seasons and Holidays pad by CLOUD 9 that I have been using, the candle paper is by DCWV (Midnight Spells Pad)
Once again, I had real issues with the purples...Her blouse is a lovely light lilac that goes so well with the deep purple of the skirt and cape, and I colored the upper part of the cape in and out of her hair with a perfectly matched pencil, but here it looks blue. UGH!!! I tried editing them to make them more "purple" and all that did was turn the bkgd. reddish. I gave up.
Once I was done piecing and coloring "Beatrix" I started putting the paper back together as best I could without making it look really bad. I wanted both candles in and as much of the border as possible. I then took a fine line black sharpie and connected lines from the mis-matched webs that were already on the paper. Then I started "doodling" things into the web have have something to do with Witchcraft, or Wicca or Paganism. I do not consider myself, Wiccan, more of a Neo-Pagan.
Anyway, then I used a silver sharpie to highlight spots around Beatrix's dark colors, and the candles. The spider seemed to get lost in the mix, so I did his hanging web and outlined his body
I plan on listing the other "Sabbats" and "Esbats" (Lunar cycled Holidays and equinoxes)somewhere in the web, as well as other appropriate items that should be noted in a BOS.
I am thinking I might add yellow-into-orange stickles on the candle flames, what do you think?

DAY 14- 31 Days of Halloween, Countdown to halloween, Real witches of Halloween

My post for ALL HALLOWS GRIM, which is actually 3 posts (3 parts of a story) is below this post.

Welcome to Day 14 of the 31 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN, as well as day 14 of the COUNTDOWN TO HALLOWEEN, and Day 14 of THE REAL WITCHES OF HALLOWEEN.

Last night I watched  "The Nightmare Before Christmas". though I always liked Sally and Jack, I was never the huge fan of the movie that my kids were. Granted, I never really only watched it once all the way through. Most of the time, I would only catch bits and pieces while the kids watched it. last night I had the "Mom AHA" moment, and say the message the movie gives. I told this to my son(25) he said, "No Mom, this is Tim Burton not Aesop's fables, he doesn't teach lessons."   I told him, "You're wrong, you just don't want to admit that a movie that is kind of freaky and you love could actually be giving you a message." he went upstairs without another word, LOL!  Here is what I got out of the movie last night.
Jack wants to be Santa Claus, he wants something different than what is his life. So he puts a master plan into motion to kidnap Santa, and to be Santa and have Christmas as his holiday. Sally tried to warn him, that it wasn't meant to be, but he ignores her. With Santa tucked away (with the boogie man unbeknownst to Jack) he rides off into the night with his skeleton reindeer, coffin sleigh and ghost dog (I love the dog). The toys (which were all built by monsters and freaks) he delivered are all "evil" basically, they attack the children he gives them too.  The police are after him, they shoot him down.
Ironically he lands in a cemetery (he is a skeleton, after all and therefore dead). While he begins to lament the loss of his dream, his plan, a funny thing happens. He realizes who he IS, and who he IS is who he IS SUPPOSED TO BE, and opens the crypt and crawls home to Halloween town. He rescues Santa therefore restoring the  Holiday and the "Balance of things".

The lesson here, be who you are, because when you try to be something you're not, problems occur. Things get screwed up.
...wizard of Oz anyone???

my creation today is for "Samhain" which is now in popular America; "Halloween"
it is a true statement. Samhain (pronounced Sow in) is the "Witches or Pagan new Year"  it is the time when the veil between the living world and the underworld (dead ancestors) is thinnest, and therefore people can counsel with their relatives.

"Heart of a Witch" tag
Digi Stamps used: Broken winged heart by SMEARED INK, Witch legs by BUGABOO STAMPS, and Witch hat by DOODLE DRAGON STUDIOS
I used a large manila tag, the kind Tim Holtz likes.
The paper is DCWV from the midnight spells stack, I thinned out gray paint and painted a large swatch diagonally across the tag. After it dried I sanded the edge  of the whole tag. Then I glued down , this very open weave straw stuff. then a piece of yellow paper doily border. Then in spots I used Old Paper crackle paint by RANGER, and Fired Brick crackle paint by RANGER.
The images were colored with BIC Mark its! I fussy cut the background from the legs, and glued the three pieces together, and glued it to the tag. then I used stickles by RANGER on the shoes, hat, sentiment(computer generated-Laughable font), wings and heart. The heart uses three different colors, as I put them on the different broken parts of the heart. I let the whole thing dry. Once dry I applied black Enamel accents by RANGER to the shoes and hat. Lastly I used my CROP-O-DILE to punch the hole through the paper matched up to the hole in the tag, and added a large eyelet and 6 different fibers.

DAY 12- 31 Days of Halloween, Countdown to halloween, Real witches of Halloween

Welcome to Day 12 of the 31 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN, as well as day 12 of the COUNTDOWN TO HALLOWEEN, and Day 12 of THE REAL WITCHES OF HALLOWEEN.

OK, today's creepy tale, is brought you by the the arachnophobe in the house...ME.  There was one of those large wolf spiders on the wall today in the kitchen on the side of the hutch near the filing cabinet (where we have lots of stuff piled up) I asked Ron to kill it, and handed him my slipper. (I should have asked my son, younger, quicker etc.)  Well, Ron missed. Any normal person would be like, ok we'll get him later. NOOOOOO, not me! I am unable to sleep, and I am looking on the floor every time I stand up to walk anywhere, like a freak. In my logical brain I know this is irrational behavior, but I just can't help it. They totally creep me out and scare me.  Even the demon fly must feel bad for me, as he hasn't been bugging me tonight.  I know, nuts, right?  Anyone else afraid of spiders? One time in my old house with first hubby, he killed one and squashed it up in a paper towel, and then KNOWING full well my fear (which was waaay worse back then) throw the paper towel on me, I was lounging on the couch watching TV.  I TOTALLY FREAKED OUT, I do not ever think I moved or jumped that fast in my life. I was actually crying, shaking and turned white. Of course my asshole X just kept laughing .  Looking back I think he may actually be a masochist.

OK, onto the creation for the day. Day 12...WOOT!!
Another card:

 Meet WINNIE
she is a digi stamp by SPIDER'S CORNER (appropriate for today's creepy tale)
Ok I already told you the Digi Stamp is by SPIDER'S CORNER,
the sentiment "Spooky Halloween" is part of a 2 piece set I rec'd as a RAK
(the other one says trick or treat)
Card stock is STAMPIN' UP, Printed paper is the very last strip of the Red Web SPIDERMAN paper I bought a few years back
(now I am wishing I bought more, I do not recall what company made it)
Winnie is colored with BIC Mark Its!, and she is up on foam dots, and the sentiment is also. The Glitter foam stickers are by CREATOLOGY
This is one of my Favorite cards so far, it looks really cool in person.

DAY 7- 31 Days of Halloween, Countdown to halloween, Real witches of Halloween

Welcome to Day 7 of the 31 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN, as well as day 7 of the COUNTDOWN TO HALLOWEEN, and Day 7 of THE REAL WITCHES OF HALLOWEEN

Today's contribution is the very beginning of what will be a continuous work in progress.
I purchased a hard cover blank journal (Farber-Castell) to make into my first Book of Shadows.
I have only worked on the very beginning--the back of the front cover.

 Image from the internet,
"Susan" stamped with Headline Alphabet stamps by STAMPIN' UP,
"ForestIsis" stamped with Collage Alphabet by STAMPIN' UP,
Roses stamp, part of Dead Necessities set by BOMBSHELL STAMPS,
Burgundy marker by STAMPIN' UP,
Black Tuxedo ink by MEMENTO, Silver Pigment ink by RANGER,
Sterling Silver embossing powder by STAMPIN' UP,
a Mix of Clear UTEE with Apple red EP from SPARKLE n SPRINKLE

3 views at different angles, and or settings
I found this image on the internet, it is called the Pumpkin Witch
Upper roses stamped in silver pigment ink, used my UTEE mix and embossed it, then filled in the open spots with the burgundy marker, really a stunning effect!
3 views, different angles and settings of the Upper Roses

3 views, different angles and settings of Lower Roses
Initially I had stamped the "F" here for "Forestisis, and since I double stamped all letters to make them darker, this one was messed up, so I moved over and started again, successfully this time. but I had this double image "f" to cover up, and I HAD planned on putting roses in the corner. what to do, what to do??
I kept stamping the "F" over and over all over a largish area in black same as the boo-boo. then I stamped the roses on top of that in the silver ink and embossed it with sterling silver EP.
there were still some blank spots, so I also used the burgundy marker to fill in here. This mistake quickly became a cool outcome!

On the inside there is a sentiment about "believe"(also by TLC CREATIONS) and then of course I wrote a personal note.

Personally, I can not think of a worse time of year to be so sick and know that you are going to be sick for a while...all the holidays and all coming. Can you imagine being 17 and getting this diagnosis? can you imagine being the mother to a 17 yo  getting this diagnosis?  I hope you will help Betty and her son, the family has limited insurance and funds. Everything any one of you send them is greatly appreciated by Betty, her family and MOSTLY by her son.  Additionally  the more you shop with SIMPLY BETTY STAMPS the more you are helping this family. Please click the button up there on my side bar and give whatever you can!

I know my post was a bit longer today, but I hope you found it worth the time. Thanks for visiting :)
